Zubin Mehta is a world-renowned conductor who has led some of the most prestigious orchestras in the world. But despite his success, he has never forgotten his roots as a Parsi.
In a recent interview, Mehta spoke about his love for Mumbai, his native city. He said that he could still drive around anywhere in the city, even though he had been living abroad for many years. He also spoke about his Parsi friends, who he said still spoke Gujarati to him, even though they lived in the United States.
Mehta also talked about his love of cricket. He said that his favorite player was Sunil Gavaskar and that he followed the fortunes of the Indian cricket team closely. However, he expressed his disapproval of the current trend towards T20 cricket, saying that it lacked the “art” and “patience” of Test cricket.
Mehta’s love for Mumbai, his Parsi heritage, and cricket are all strong reminders of his roots. Even though he has achieved great success in the world of music, he has never forgotten where he came from.
