It’s the damnedest thing. Yesterday, literally out of the grey monsoon sky, two feathers floated into my home. Both are grey in color. One small, and the other tiny. Probably from the pigeons that were engaged in a spirited battle on my roof earlier. They are
squabbly, territorial birds, these pigeons. All the time-fighting. Defending their space. The bigger feather landed on my window sill. The other, on my soap dish. So small, light, and fluffy, I almost didn’t see it. Now I am not superstitious. But the Universe sometimes acts in mysterious ways. And I know, from past experience, that feathers coming into your home or life suddenly have a deep, spiritual meaning. They are a positive omen. An
indication that an angel, often the soul of a lost loved one on the other side, is watching over you.
These are distressing times we live in. Everybody is going through some suffering. I am not an exception. And I have been going through Life’s fires lately. The wise old aunt of a friend, who has psychic wisdom, and who can tell what it means when a raven sits
on the windowsill, a spoon falls on the floor, or a black cat crosses the path, explained that feathers are a sacred blessing. Grey is a symbol of a return to normality and peace. And a grey feather is a sign that a period of calmness and clarity is about to enter my life. It signifies peace, hope, and harmony. A sign of encouragement to keep on going. That challenging, turbulent times won’t last. I have lost more than a fair share of people that I dearly loved. And for what these grey feathers are worth, I am already happier to know these souls have got my back.
