Introduction
Today, we have with us Dr Vityala Yethindra. A 12-time world record holder. He is the world’s Youngest Scientist in Medicine. Successfully completed 51 courses from reputed universities. Recipient of National and International awards recipient. Author of two books, and 23 research articles. Woohoo, there is so much to this younger achiever Kitty.
“Dr Yethindra is the last, and only medical student ever to become successful in many fields and works,” Dr Tugolbai Tagaev from City Clinical Hospital No.1, Kyrgyzstan.
Childhood struggles
Born in Warangal, Telangana, on 10 January 1997, Dr Yethindra is a precocious child. He has been through some tough times, as he couldn’t attend preschool for two years. Due to his family’s financial conditions. His mother taught him at home for two years of preschool. In 2012, he lost his grandfather who suffered a heart attack. By then he is an average student aiming to be a professional cricket player.
Yethindra challenge himself at every step
Consequently, he aims to be a doctor. After the 11th and 12th standards, in 2016, he took admission to the International Higher School of Medicine, Kyrgyzstan. For pursuing an MD (General Medicine) course. While owing to several disheartening experiences in medical school within his heart. He starts working hard by isolating himself from everyone. He always tried to attempt new and difficult activities such as completing 51 courses in nine days. Authoring books, conducting researches, working continuously in a lab, and running campaigns.
He believes that “Medical education is not about gaining knowledge and skills. It is also an experience which creates attitudes and expressions.” He always accepts challenges to develop and rectify mistakes with a positive attitude.
Achievements
As a world record holder, in 2018, Dr Yethindra completed 51 medical courses in nine days. Courses he completed are from top universities such as the , and the University of Derby. He receives a world record in 2019. He has been declared the World’s Youngest Scientist in Medicine and receives six world records. These are for his contributions to medical research and literature.
As an author, in 2018, He wrote the book “Essentials of Hematology: Inside Hematology,” in English, Hindi, and Russian, received world record for the “Youngest person to write a trilingual book.” In 2019, He wrote the book “The Historical Development of the Heart i.e., from its Formation from:” and received the Guinness World Record for the “Longest title of a book” with 3,777 words and 26,021 characters. Even though he failed six times for three years in his attempts. It is in 2019, he receives the Guinness world record.
His contribution to the Society
As a doctor, in 2020, he is the only foreign undergraduate medical student to work voluntarily. In the COVID-19 ward of the City Clinical Hospital No.1, Kyrgyzstan. He has been working for 18 hours for six months. He always believes that “The good physician treats the disease; the great physician treats the patient who has the disease.”
As a Medical student, writer, and world youngest scientist, he conducted 32 research studies and published 23 research articles in esteemed peer-reviewed journals. He participated in 14 international conferences and won eight awards.
Results from his research
Even though his medical researches initially got unsuccessful. He rectifies, updates and learns. Then after one year in 2019, he gets successful in his medical researches.
In 2019, under the guidance of Prof. Sagynali Mamatov, where his study results show that the use of high-altitude climatotherapy in treating immune thrombocytopenic purpura in children of the Kyrgyz Republic is successful.
In 2020, he proves that unfractionated heparin is a simpler and safer approach in critical care to prevent or reduce hospitalization duration without adverse effects. At the Lublin International Medical Congress 2020, his research study, “In vitro inhibitory effect of fluoxetine against SARS-CoV-2,” receives a distinction prize.
As a researcher, he derives positive results. As he evaluates the safety and efficacy of umifenovir, itolizumab, and rivaroxaban in patients with COVID-19. He is the first to discover and publish rare cases of diseases. They are such as frontal lobe epilepsy, neurofibromatosis, and ischemic stroke.
Medical Research and Yethindra
He never leaves medical research, despite technical and health issues that come his way. He is an active editor in the Eurasian medical journal. A reviewer in Clinical case reports (Wiley) and Biomedicine (India) Journals. At present, he is a member of reputed medical organizations. Namely the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, the American College of Physicians, and the European Society for Medical Oncology.
Working towards Society welfare
From 2016-2018, he did voluntary social service and charity work. Under his campaign “Power of your intelligent minds,”. He provides educational training in academics and personality development. To the underprivileged and handicapped students in schools from India and Kyrgyzstan.
In 2019-2020, he campaigned and conducted research titled “About the status and prospects of gerontology and geriatrics in the Kyrgyz Republic” and “Current aspects of disability in the Kyrgyz Republic,” which are published as articles later. He has made 1,679 people aware of the importance of gerontology and geriatrics. Also the aspects of disabilities in Kyrgyzstan through demonstrations and active debates.
In 2020-2021, He has conducted campaigns about Ethical issues surrounding false information about coronavirus disease 2019 and Coronavirus disease 2019: Ethical and Epidemiological Issues with Clinical Trials, which have been successful and even published as research articles.
His philosophy
Dr Yethindra believes that “Education is the most powerful weapon. With education, you can change the world.” In 2020, he conducted 63 webinars and meetings. As the host and speaker through Skype and Zoom (March to December). This is done for his peers, clarifying queries in academics, and medical research. In 2019-2021, World Youngest Scientist supports 23 peers and 34 PhD students from four universities of Kyrgyzstan. He is helping them to conduct research, and acquire positive results.
An inspiration
Today the world youngest scientist Dr Yethindra receives MedEngage Award. He further receives the title of “Champion of the Champions” by Metropolis Healthcare Ltd. The Karmaveer Chakra Award 2021 is instituted by iCONGO and UN. Towards his contributions to humanity, education, and medical research. He is selected as an ambassador for the International Student Congress Of (bio)Medical Sciences (ISCOMS) 2022. And the International Conference for Healthcare and Medical Students (ICHAMS) 2022.
At present, Dr Yethindra, World Youngest Scientist, is working on etiology, treatment, prevention. Also, the ethical issues related to different diseases, such as cancer, stroke, tuberculosis, leprosy, thrombocytopenia, and COVID-19.
