A flock of Pigeons lived contentedly on the roof of an old Temple. When the Temple was being renovated for the yearly feast, the Pigeons were transported to a nearby Church. The Pigeons in the Church were quite kind to the visitors. As Christmas approached, the Church was given a makeover. All of the Pigeons had to leave and search for a new home.
They were fortunate to locate a spot in the neighboring Mosque. The Pigeons in the Mosque greeted them cheerfully. After Ramadan, the Mosque was repainted. All of the Pigeons returned to the same old Temple.
The Pigeons witnessed communal fights downstairs in the market plaza one day. The Baby Pigeon asked the Mother Pigeon who the people were and why they were fighting. The Mother replied those people were Human Beings who belonged to different religions.
The Baby Pigeon inquired, “Why is that so?,” as they were called Pigeons and never fought over religion. It further asked shouldn’t the people be referred to only as “Human Beings” where ever they are?”
The Mother explained, “You and I and our Pigeon companions have known the presence of the One God Almighty. That is why we are living here in a very elevated area contentedly. These folks have yet to know the One Almighty God. As a result, they live underneath us, battling and murdering each other.”
Moral of the story
Instead of fighting over religion, we should all unite on a common platform. A single God has created all of us as human beings and we should serve Him alone. Being human is the only way to live for us. And instead of fighting with each other, we should all uphold Peace as our religion.
