Outside, the joy was better. Everyone showed up to play. to saturate. in the rain, to sail paper boats. No youngsters are doing this currently, in my opinion. Boys made paper boats from notebook paper easily. and watched merrily as the boats went down the gutter.
Hoping raindrops falling from the leaves of trees didn’t scuttle our boats like Japanese torpedo bombers sinking American warships at Pearl Harbour. If that happened, we resolutely built a replacement boat.
At home, there were several pages in a notepad. On our boats, we occasionally scribbled our names. The same goes for our schools.
Our roll number, the class we were in for the day. believing the paper boats could travel a long way. be discovered in a foreign country. similar to throwing a message in a bottle into the water.
