The glitzy affair of Mayanagri attracts many. Many come to try their luck here, prove themselves and achieve the stardom that looks sparkling from afar. Significantly fewer are aware of the blind turns and dead ends of the roads. The asphalt that appears smooth does not lead to the destination easily.
Out of these many one names is Nivaan Sen, a boy from the gullies of Varanasi, the ancient Kashi. Place where ‘Shiva and Shav’ can be seen together at one glance. The most visited pilgrimage site in India. This holy land also is the birthplace of various forms of art, renowned artists, laureates, literature, and music.
Along with mentioned adjectives for Kashi, it is also a land of many artists and great minds.
The God’s conspiracy: Nivaan’s Journey of acting
One day when no one showed up for theatre, the show director called Nivaan to do an act on the spot. Nivaan found his calling in acting. Today, he has several successful movies and serials under his belt and even has a production house of his own called ‘Urban Boat Films’.
Eyes full of dreams, Nivaan arrived in Bombay in 2004 with bare money and tried to find his way through Bollywood. He was not an exception, beyond the shimmers he too experienced the darker sides of Mayanagri.
Although difficult, his hard work, determination, and blessings of his Guruji and father who raised him alone after his mother’s demise stood strong to support him in his journey.
2004, Zee Cinestar’s ki Khoj: Success knocks on the door for Nivaan
In 2004 he won the title of India’s best performance in a comic role in a talent show called India’s ‘Zee Cinestar’s ki Khoj’. There was no looking back after. He got a role in Ekta Kapoor’s coming-of-age serial ‘Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki’ which went on and changed the trend of TV serials in India.
He has been in Bollywood for years now and has seen the ups and downs of the lane.
Success comes to those who strive for it and stays with the ones who know how to handle it.
The fame couldn’t change his humility and modesty even a bit. He owes his success to his Guruji Late Shri Vishwanath Bose who was his mentor throughout his life. He considers his wife as his pillar of strength. There have been times when he had to present bold scenes and instead of being insecure, she supported him and continues doing so. “A supportive partner can bring you ease and help you in doing your work with 100% of your efforts”, says Nivaan.
Nivaan has lived the dreams of the masses. He went from living in Banaras to acting with the biggest names in the industry in Mumbai. Even in today’s time, there are a lot of children who dream of the life Nivaan has lived.
OTTs, The New dimension for creating history
He shot five short films and grabbed several awards on OTT platforms on being insisted by his niece in 2017. He bagged various awards as a producer in the past few years.

It was now time to taste the fruits of hard work and he won the best critics award at Banaras Film Festival, Best Story Writer Award at International Short Film Festival, and Best Producer Award at International Short Film Festival name a few.
His message for the aspirants
He believes that in today’s pace of life, generation of Social Media influencers, and competitive mindset, one should focus on his/her craft rather than getting into the rat race.
Nivaan’s opinions and mind are shaped by the deep-rooted culture of Banaras and the art that is so prominently present at every corner of the city. The city which is an amalgamation of spirituality, art, culture, music, and ancient history has imprinted values in the heart of this boy from gullies.
Sometimes destiny rises from the potholes of the narrow lanes and touches the sky.
