Introduction
Teaching is a beautiful profession. But everything worthwhile comes with a responsibility. It leaves an ever-lasting impact on your student. Neeru Mittal was incredibly ecstatic at the possibility of interacting with children and making a difference in their lives. She pursued her studies at Oshwal Academy in East Africa, affiliated with the University of London. Just like most of the parents, hers too wished to set on a journey in the medical field.
However, she was more fascinated by application-based subjects, such as math. She was attracted by the concept of learning a subject via applying logic. When she returned to India, she pursued her interest in computer science, a novel idea at the time. It was a great honour to be one of the few women to receive a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Delhi University. In addition to her academics, she taught other children, which helped her achieve financial independence. Also, prepare her for her first teaching position.
In the quest for knowledge, she gained several awards during a long 27+ years of teaching experience
She won several awards, thanks to her fantastic reputation. Below are a few of them:
- Won the Sumer Pathshala competition held at National Level by Microsoft India in 2017
- National e-Innovation Award winner 2017-18, organised by Bharti Global
- Winner of National ICT Award for innovation in the field of Education Technology
- Teacher trainer and the IT school coordinator.

Her profession as a Teacher
Initially, teaching was not even close to the career she was chasing after. However, when she was married at a young age to an unsupportive spouse, she was challenged with severe financial difficulties. One of her relatives recommends her to his school’s vice principal. After she tutored him on computers and saved him from failing his academics. Her interview went well, and she was selected. Her parents were against the idea, but she had no other choice. She had to look after her six-month-old twins. Being financially stable to raise them well was a top priority. She joined SRDAV as a consequence and hasn’t looked back since.
Teaching is a tough job. But at the same time, it is enjoyable. Neetu did not enjoy the complex concepts of teachings until she discovered methods to make it enjoyable for her pupils via role acting, drama, and ordinary games such as scrabble and dumb charades.
Her love for teaching
As time passed by, her passion for teaching grew. Upon realising how much she enjoyed teaching, she wanted to seek a master’s degree to advance her profession. Due to her love of learning, she has studied several courses and programming languages. As a result, she obtained teaching experience and could provide her pupils with cutting-edge technology.
She has created e-resources such as blogs, interactive assignments, game-based notes, chatbots in many languages, animated tales, and documentaries on complex topics such as data structures.
Her knowledge made students successful
She witnessed a significant improvement in the academic performance of her pupils, with 100% passing their admissions exams and being admitted into prestigious schools and institutions. In addition, the innovations of her pupils were recognised and appreciated at national and worldwide levels, changing them from ordinary students into knowledge creators.
Her contribution is Global
As a teacher for the past twenty-six years, she has coached students in international competitions and saw them earn honours for their school. What first looked like obstacles became opportunities for her to succeed in her endeavours. Knowledge is a powerful tool, and she is passionate about imparting that to her beloved students.
She aspires to bring forth a positive change in the entire world. She has teamed up with several organisations to make robotics and ICT education accessible to everybody.
Her kindness toward her student
Social-emotional learning (SEL) is a subject close to her heart because she wants education to be more than simply a means of earning a job; she wants it to help students develop into caring, sensitive individuals. Therefore, she researched the most effective ways to assist children developed their SEL through the use of technology and developed several activities that utilise ICT to help children develop holistically. Appreciation, compassion, mindfulness, and empathy are examples of SEL skills that may be taught through ICT technology. Flip Grid was used to construct a Gratitude Wall on which students may write thank-you cards to three individuals who have had a daily impact on their lives. Additionally, a Kindness Diary has been created for children to record their everyday acts of kindness. “Hacking Happiness” is an Android application that measures children’s and teachers’ happiness levels.
Her Current Teaching profession
At her present employment, she works in an elementary school that serves students with diverse learning styles and cultural backgrounds. Due to their constant exposure to disruptive technology, the children’s attention spans in this urban school were exceedingly short. This had a detrimental effect on learning outcomes. Consequently, she was compelled to create a technique that would keep my students interested.
Innovative ways to teach students
In her classroom, she uses AR/VR-enhanced courses and self-created ICTs. Such as interactive content, animated films, and gamification to spark her students’ interest and encourage their creativity. She believes a comprehensive view should be used to develop a student. To do this, ICT has fostered experimentation, analysis, and execution, as well as the growth of creative expression. As seen by their projects and other tasks, her students now utilise ICTs in other disciplines, boosting their grasp of several themes pertinent to their study.
She uses one-note class notebooks to accommodate the diverse educational needs of her students. By providing customised teaching resources, student learning has been enhanced. Her instruction techniques have enabled her to include non-verbal students in her classroom and establish a good learning environment.
National Education Policy
The National Education Policy 2020 suggests several changes to India’s educational system. Among the policy’s objectives are using technology to increase equity, quality, and inclusion and to educate pupils on valuable life skills.
According to these parameters, she has now devised her own four critical applications of the NEP 2020 in classroom education. Regardless of their financial situation, all students should have equal access to a decent education. That’s what she believes. Through a range of ongoing programmes, She has worked to reduce the digital divide, provide equal opportunities for the Divyang, enhance adult education, and contribute to developing a knowledge-based society.
Before we conclude
The life is same for every teacher, however, there are few who keep working hard towards their own growth. That becomes the growth of the students and the ecosystem as well. It is well said that one person’s growth can uplift the entire institution. And we can understand this from her hunger to excel and untiring efforts towards, school, students and the global. Indeed, the life gifts you abundance, when you show your deserving efforts and hard work. It may take time, sleepless nights and consistent hard work, to create a reputation about YOU at a global level.
