Listening to segmented selections of a whisper whilst residing
within a fragmented dream, leaving me left to wonder
if I am living within an
illusion
which has been sanitized and cleansed beyond recognition,
what has been left out of sequence? So much
is missing as if preventative
measures
were one’s preference, all of which have taken precedence,
I regret your being a victim of purification,
I never considered you to be an
evil one.
Inexplicable, the way you move as would a shadow in the dark…
I cannot feel what I cannot touch, your shape, always morphing
into another shape as you meander aimlessly beneath
a moonlit sky,
and I, apprehensively awaiting your untimely arrival…
What mysteries lie behind your closed eyes, the images you may
have seen, the utterances you may have heard, all of which
lies largely unrevealed and nary spoken
of,
are there whisperings that linger upon your lips awaiting
a prod or two. And still, your eyes remain shut
and your lips do not
tremble.
Is there not an utterance, an image, you may leave as a token.
Are we left without because of your insolence? Hark, nigh has
befallen us, rest in slumber’s sleep, forget
this inquire if you so desire,
nothing
’tis worse than a troubled soul, and I desire you rest in comfort.
