Look at the audacity of this government that’s busy building a railway underground and a road across the sea, but which expresses helplessness and
inability annually at repairing potholed roads! I have lived in Mumbai all my life. That is several decades and some more. And I just know from experience that the monsoon
means potholed roads. Why this is so I don’t know. But I can imagine. The authority is indifferent or corrupt or both. It is also insensitive and shameless. Repairing a road is not rocket science. But when there’s no political will, it just cannot be done. Very
obviously, there’s money to be made in both – constructing poor roads and then repairing them. That’s why both jobs are never properly done.
