“A rose is a rose, is a rose…”
By no other
name;
an interpretation, if the writer were to continue,
describing the bloom whose petals
lie fragrant as no
other,
weakening those to weep upon breathing in its effervescent
fragrance, as had she. A listless smile,
the emotion revealed,
a melancholy
state
she lie within, and I, offering a word of kindness…
beyond her bay window; demure, petite, hourglass-shaped.
If she were to be described…
Soften, her words, if she lies
whispering.
Still, I could never please her. As a rose, beatific, an enchantment,
her fragrance lingering.
If only she were not prone to
” If only she were ageless…”
Words revealing a memory, one I had written of within a dream,
In the next chapter, the words which lie unwritten
on parchment paper, whilst awaiting
the moments which are to
appear,
relies heavily upon the existence of one’s life, if one were
referring to the metaphysical.
What words remain within silent graves
as we read upon their
epitaphs
leaving one stirring, one’s remembrance of a loved one lost.
Fond farewells are these, as one speaks of one’s
eulogy; the clarification of
one’s life…
Nothing more than reminders coursing through our veins.
And, in time, we shall become one of them.
