Can a brand actually have a story around it? Yes, why not, in fact, every brand has a story around it. This can be in regard to how they started and how they landed with new products range and new business process and ways of working. The story can be in regard to anything and that’s where today we have a story of Bewakoof.com who are making a shout out for all the artisans with their exclusive Badera Collection range.
If there is something meaningful to it, you will find us! Be it corporates, individuals or start-ups. The best part is they are going vocal for the local artisans from Rajasthan India.
Meaning of Badera
The term Badera means ancestors. The collection that they have is a respectful ode to the original art and craftsmanship. It’s our Indian Artisans and Karigars who have kept our Indian culture & heritage alive to date through their artwork. The aim is to present this art in form of a clothes collection to Genz, millennials and young Indians. Indeed they have turn out to be the pieces of true art, untouched and uncorrupted by modernity. Such worthy thought!
How did the idea strike
Well, the journey of Badera’s for Bewakoof initiated in the year 2019. The time when the design team travel to Rajasthan in regard to their routine business work. They happen to have a brief stopover near a small town in the Shekhawati district. That’s when they met an old lady in her late 60’s. She is tastefully working on hand block printing in her yard. This innocent lady from remote is unaware of the monetary value of her art!
This creative artwork has the potential to grab eyeballs for the millions of art lovers and fashionistas who have taken inspiration from the “Badera”. That moment just inspires the design team to take up this contemporary form of traditional art to a new level with the latest graphics and technology. Bringing something new and unique yet funky to Bewakoof customers.
Their actions speaking louder than words
Wahoo isn’t this is so beautiful concept. They are voicing “vocal for the local concept”. Further reviving our 5,000-year-old Heritage with style and taste. Supporting Indian artisans especially from rural. Through their launch of the exclusive Badera Collection. Which has a whole range of SHIRTS, KURTAS, DRESSES and TOPS. This is for everyone: men, women, youth, and all the fashionistas around.
Meet The Design Head
Amit Mahajan – the Design Head, Bewakoof, in his words, “Khamma Ghani Saa :)!” He put it wisely while saying that, inspiration does happen in the times when you bleakly expect it. The moment we saw their beautiful work, their designs stole our hearts. That was an inspirational moment! There is always tremendous hidden treasures in our rich culture and heritage. Much to admire in terms of Indian artisans dedication, patience, love for art, and skills. I fell in love with it and I must say it’s truly world-class.
The thought is simple, we wish to revive our heritage through this autumn collection. Of course, it is exclusive for our customers as well. In terms of contemporary style while striking colours and fashion elements to Badera Collection. The complete concept is so beautiful. As getting inspired by the “textile treasure” of our desert state. Which serves us with our autumn collection this 2021 season.
