I tell you, there is nothing like a night of restful, undisturbed sleep. When you turn in between 10 and 11 pm (sleep experts suggest 9.30 as the ideal time, which is utterly ridiculous) and wake up between 6 and 7 am feeling charged and raring to go. If you are sleeping to this pattern, then consider yourself blessed. I used to. But for sins I don’t know I committed, this has not been happening for the past two weeks. I either lie awake, tossing and turning, until past 2 am. Or I wake up around midnight and then don’t get sleep until the pre-dawn hours. It’s unprecedented. And inexplicable. It is also distressing. The next day goes for a toss. Fortunately, I have an iron-like constitution. With reserves of energy that see me through the next 18-20 hours. But for how long, I wonder. I raid the fridge for dark chocolate. Pick up the incomplete

And sense ghostly presences. Woken up
from REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep, people are disoriented, agitated, and fearful. The heart rate is slower. Body temperature reduced. Breathing pattern and blood pressure irregular. It is scary. I am not superstitious. I have no fears. But I wonder if it’s true that spirits enter our world. I have yet to connect with one. I am waiting…
