Harsh Parmar is a young, enthusiastic, and full-of-life student who is pursuing a B.Com. But as we all know that life is very unpredictable. On April 19th, Harsh was admitted to the hospital. He underwent 3 surgeries and also 1 skin surgery which was beset due to infections on his left hand.
Due to his sudden hospitalization, he was unable to give his college exams too.
Shares Harsh in his own words: “Khwaishien”, I could barely remember that I haven’t ever screamed to kill me while I was in ICUs or OTs for days. After all surgeries and pains, the only truth was the urge to survive. I can recall the people behind me in ICU who were screaming and crying in pain as if they were wishing to die, crying to kill them out from this macrocosm as if they were bearing important pain which can’t repel and did not want to breathe presently. The only objective on my mind was to wake up beforehand from this deathbed and run behind my dreams as if I haven’t indeed started to fulfill them yet and just faced the trauma of surgeries at a veritably youthful age where I lost my hope to be fit and forfeiture again like I was ahead.
While staring at the ceiling fan of their sanitarium the only that crosses my mind was a question as to why people in old age asked to kill them, to embody themselves to a new life, and to free them again.
After all, I realized people who formerly fulfilled their dreams (Khwaishien) went no further to be alive. If they are feeling restless in this macrocosm rather than surviving with pain, they feel to break the chain of their lives. On the other hand, the fear in me was to stand again and run and chase my dreams as soon as I woke up from
bed and give a comeback to me. I just wonder why life gave me a chance and not the others ( I repeat, especially old age) who used to scream “Kill me” in the four walls of the ICU. The stopgap that still awakes me was to stand strong and run towards the dreams designed to fulfill in this single life. The only conclusion I felt was to keep your “Khwaishien” alive which will wake you up and will you give a reason to live after defeating all the pain in the hospital. That’s the reason old age people used to say to rest them in burial because they are lost to still awake further to watch this macrocosm on their own. To have meaning to this beautiful life which we have as mortal and keep small Khwaishien in you which gives all the more reason to live.
Sorry for offending the old age people but this is for all those who are in the hospital and crying in pain. Just have a small Khwaish and that is the biggest reason to be happy, just like Harsh Parmar!
