Childhood – a poem about missing memories
The Childhood – a poem by Sharmistha Bhattacharjee for everyone, whatever we do in our life, we always miss our Childhood memories and a wish to go back in time
I wish I could go back again,
To the days when I was young;
Where we played in the lonely streets,
And often one got hurt.
I wish I could go back again,
To the days of that common attire;
Where going to school means meeting friends,
And coming home means home-works.
I wish I could go back again,
To the days when weekends were so special;
Where Sundays meant morning – plays,
And mid-day cartoon fare.
I wish I could go back again,
To the days when I was young;
Where life was so simple,
And tensions were far apart.
Now that I am grown up,
Heaps of worries pile up;
Life got complex with passing time,
And often difficult to admire.
I wish I could go back again,
To the days when I was young;
Where life was full of fun and joyous
And friends – honest & fair.
