Mritunjay Kumar as a child had a dream of becoming an actor. But never in his imagination thought of actually accomplishing it. Once you have a dream you fight for it despite every obstacle. Pursuing this path wasn’t a simple walk in a park for him.
He has struggled day in and out for becoming what he is today. A small-town boy to be in Bollywood is always the movie’s way but this story is a real-life example of what we see in movies. This is a story to follow and believe in your dreams. That is what we are able to bring to our readers today at the story of souls. Each time a new and inspiring story.
His journey
On asking about his journey he says, “I came to Mumbai in 2007 to kickstart my career. I wanted to do a movie but getting onto it was way really difficult whereas I made contacts but was never successful in getting a movie – shares Mritunjay.
“This can be considered my fortune that I worked under such a talented artist Irrfan Khan. As I observed him more, I learned better. We were to do a movie together but due to his health issues we couldn’t due to all these ups and downs I couldn’t get my hands on something which was really artistic and magical.”
The struggles
To make himself a renowned and known face, Mritunjay did a movie but it again went unsuccessful. So further he realized that he should be trying something else in the same field to get closer to his dream.
Then after he started working as an Executive Producer, but that also turned out to be futile. So, finally, Mritunjay decided to go back to Delhi. There he has his business however the artist inside him wasn’t happy doing this. And will be like leading a meaningless life for him. The satisfaction was missing as it seemed he was wasting his time so along with he started acting for 2 hours to satiate his inner soul.
That moment of realization
Soon after he realized that it wasn’t about acting alone it was about his own personal happiness. So, talking to a very close friend Rajkumar Rao, Mritunjay decided to continue in his field of passion. As expected, he received amazing guidance from Rajkumar like his own brother. Needless to say, he followed his steps and tips wholeheartedly and with complete faith and dedication.
When Mritunjay was working as an EP, he used to observe each and every actor. The delegates, the shots, and the way things are to be done in front of the camera. He often participates in the discussion with the whole cast and the director. After the pack up to brush up his own skills. And as they say, hard work pays, and that’s what happened with him. Yes, there have been consistent efforts, patience while reaching for his goals. But yes, he could pull it all with shine. And with the grace of God, he got his first break. As the second lead actor for the movie ‘Dedh Bigha Zameen.’
Now is the time to celebrate
In his own words, ” this is the time for which I have been working” and yes, makes you feel good about those pains now. Being born and brought up in a place called Patna, this becomes an unrealistic dream for me and my family, that came true”. And we say it’s action time, now, I am waiting to get my movie released – says Mritunjay.
It’s just the starting of it there is more to come,” shares a happy and beaming Mritunjay!
Indeed it is an inspiring story of dreams, determination. How he moves from self-doubts to accomplishments and success. On behalf of StoryofSouls.com wishing you and your co-stars all the best for your upcoming movie – ‘Dhed Bigha Zameen.’
