It happened again. Some idiot in the Congress found a picture of Kangana Ranaut and me in a 2017 article I wrote for Huffington Post and believing he had another nail to drive in her coffin,
rabidly went on Twitter to whoop that the actress who leans towards the BJP was spotted drinking with the terrorist and underworld don Abu Salem. Now I understand each of us has
seven lookalikes in the world. And God help me if Abu Salem is one of mine or vice versa. But it is a dubious distinction I don’t care for.
Kangana, of course, revels in situations such as this. She is used to being viciously trolled. And the National Award winning actress can give as good as she gets. She ripped apart the shortsighted
and moralistic Congressman whose Tweet had attracted a bit of media attention. And soon her legion of fans, supporters in the BJP and friends of mine from the press joined in the attack and forcibly corrected his distorted vision. Hammering him and his discredited party with a barrage of hateful and virulent
comments. If this twit had done his homework he would have known that Abu Salem has been in incarceration since 2002. Whereas Kangana joined Bollywood in 2006. And unless Arthur Road Jail has a bar where convicts mingle with sociable visitors, there was no way the actress could have hobnobbed with the gangster over drinks. Social media has given faceless cowards with a jaundiced opinion and strident voice a stage to say their two bits behind the cloak of anonymity. Like the Congress dimwit. But it gave friends a laugh.
